Asarum (wild ginger)Image: Euphoria vs. Numbness.Extremely oversensitive patients with mood swings. They push themselves to breaking point and become unstable. The mood swing appears to be between a light, floating and euphoric state, which is almost like flying and a state of oversensitivty, where everything grates on the nerves. She is easily upset by contradiction, and becomes sad, (Incosolable) and is irritable and quarrelsome, then she resorts to alcohol, to dwells upon these things. Sex is out of the question! The euphoria almost feels like a spiritual trance, and there is a desire for genuine understanding, coming from the feeling that the state is too etherial. The sadness comes with a state of fragility, prostration and despair which results in aversion to everything. There is not enough energy to bring anything to completion. Rubrics:
Miasm: Sycotic and Syphilitic. Ringworm (means: exertion vs. prostration) Cross the Miasm and Sensation: Pressed down by something. Put under pressure. Then released. Therapeutics: Longing for alcohol. Nausea. Sensation of digging in stomach the morning after. Mineral analogue : Phos :[Silicon series, Row 15: Ego/Connection]. Tubercular. can be very sensitive and excitable, susceptable to prostration, yet anxious and morose. Clematis (below) appears to be a close analogue of Phos-ac. Aristolochia Clematis (Birthwort)A remedy for ripening puberty, when there is physical of emotional immaturity. The depression of Arist. seems deeper than that of Asarum. Arist sometimes makes an effort to overcome her problems, but there is a sense of Isolation: She feels that she is disgusting and wants to be alone.Rubrics:

Piper Methysticum (Kava) BoerickeLife could be such a bore without entertainment! The drink produces talkative and euphoric behaviour, followed by restful sleep. A stronger drink sends you to sleep! When do we feel bored?? Could it be when we are stuck in a rut? With only one inevitable outcome life becomes one dimensional.Rajan notes that Piper-meth can be love-struck. His client would enjoy playing Ragas but also, especially, lighter and romantic tunes. Rubrics:
Therapeutics: Cystitis. Burning during micturition, gonorrhoea. CubebaAn aggressive and ill-humoured state, with extreems of debauchery, cruelty and malice. There is no spiritual dimension. Nothing is left but the extreems of lamentation and excessive pleasure. Rubrics:
Therapeutics: Cystitis. Urethritis with mucus, burning or cutting. Prostatitis with yellow discharge. Miasm: Cubeba has anti-Syphilitic and anti-Leprotic layers. | |
| fam. Saururaceae | [Rx: Saururus cernuus: Lizards tail] | |
| Discussion | There are several Leprous Rx in the plant kingdom [lact, led, aloe, cic, cur, grat, hura]. How do you differentiate between these? Rajan uses the sensation. Paul Herscu uses a closely related idea - psychosomatic segments. A segment is a conceptual representation of part of a remedy picture that pervades both the menatal/emotional sphere and the generalities. Combine this with Rajan's thinking and you have a chair with three (or more!) legs.

CamphoraFeels isolated and alienated. The image of the Steppenwolf, the ranting philosopher who is forsaken, out in the cold. He alternates from vexation to rage. Choudary: It is an important remedy in mania with melancholy. Violent rage is characteristic of Camphor.
In poisonous dose you feel so cold you turn blue. Coldness, frenzy and heat intermingle.
Mineral analogue: CARB-V [Based on: Anxiety and want of self-confidence, horrible and frightful visions, Shrieking and Collapse] There is a hypothesis that the Magnolids (Piperales, Laurales, etc) correspond to the very early stages of life. CARB-V is indeed found on the Identity row of the periodic table, and like Camphora, suffers visions of the Bardo realm. In the Piperales there are pleasurable floating (womb-like?) euphoric states [Asar, Kava, Cub] which look like Phos. Does this correspondence hold throughout the Plant/Mineral Kingdoms? Yakir and Desai assert that this is so! Asiatic cholera: Is gastroenteritis caused by Vibrio cholerae which colonises the small inestine. Its toxins stimulate the cells of the mucosal epithelium to secrete fluid, hence the main symptom is rice-water stool. Dehydration and electrolyte depletion occur rapidly. The patient becomes hypotensive (very low blood pressure) within an hour of infection, and soon goes into shock, so oral rehydration must be given promptly. The Sx are: Weak pulse, Cold skin, sunken eyes, reduced urine, thirst, shock, cramps.
